Ode to a Rock

I’ve clambered over you,
Laid my cheek to feel your warmth
Stolen your strength when I needed it.

Your song is deep and still

I, of the fragile body,
I’ll dash the same bones
That used to clamber over you
Dash them in remembrance
Break them, leave them behind

I call you to come at that last moment
Cover me with your slab of darkness

Entombed
I will be your willing companion
